Newcastle’s Thulani Mbele wins World Jam Music Festival talent search

The hopefuls took to the stage at the Moses Mabhida Stadium and in front of a discerning panel of judges, these young performers stunned audiences and judges alike.

Newcastle’s own Thulani Mbele outshone twenty other KwaZulu-Natal hopefuls to clinch top spot at the finals of the World Jam Music Festival Talent Search.

The hopefuls took to the stage at the Moses Mabhida Stadium and in front of a discerning panel of judges, these young performers stunned audiences and judges alike.

“We recognize that KwaZulu-Natal has hidden talent and that many of these youngsters do not have the opportunity or know how to promote themselves or be recognized. As part of our CSI initiative aligned with the World Jam Music Festival, the Talent Search was created and we are now extremely proud to present the outstanding talents of the winners to this province and to South Africa,” said Craig Clay-Smith, Director of Flagship Communications and Communications Director for World Jam Music Festival.

Thulani, a 21-year-old Hip-Hop artist took top honours, after judges decided he was the best act overall for the day.

Along with the second and third place acts, Thulani will perform on stage as one of the 60 strong local and international line-up of performers at the World Jam Music Festival which will take place at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on December 6 and 7.

“Performing at the World Jam Music Festival is a dream come true. This is going to change my whole life,” said Thulani.
