Battlefields Festival mania on the way

The main competition will take place on June 13 in Murchison Street, commencing at 9am

It’s that time of year when Battlefields Festival mania is set to take the town by storm.

This year, it promises to be bigger and better! Emnambithi/Ladysmith Municipality will host its  annual competition popularly known as the  ‘Community Gun-Run’.

After the Inaugural Gun-Run in 2011, the competition has been received with full enthusiasm from the community of Ladysmith and surrounding areas and has proved to be a great  success throughout the years.

The competition is set to be held as follows: Trials – May 30, commencing at 9am in Driefontein (Mathondwane next to petrol station / bus depot). The main competition will take place on June 13 in Murchison Street, commencing at 9am.

Winning teams will receive cash prizes as follows: first –  R4000, second – R3000, third – R2000, fourth – R1500, fifth – R1000. Emnambithi/Ladysmith Municipality, in conjunction with the Department of Sport & Recreation and South African National  Defence Force (SANDF), would like to extend an  invitation to community members from all 27 wards within the Emnambithi/Ladysmith area to form teams consisting of 12 members to participate.
