BUDGET: Wedding costs you might have overlooked
Is your wedding budget complete? Before settling on the total, check our list of hidden costs you might not have anticipated.

Weddings are joyous occasions where two people are united as one through love. However, there are hidden costs that couples occasionally forget to budget for when planning for their special day.
1. Postage
Yes, postage. When planning the design of one’s invitations and who needs to be invited, couples sometimes forget the cost does not end with layout of one’s invites.
2. Wedding attire alterations
Choosing the perfect wedding dress, bridesmaids’ dress or suit for the groom is a daunting experience. However, it is important to put some cash aside in case the clothing needs to be altered to either a smaller or larger size.
3. Vendor Meals
This means your photographer, DJ or band. One often focuses so much on the food for the guests, the vendors are forgotten. However, they all need food to continue working through your special day, so don’t forget to arrange meals for them with your caterer.
4. Overtime
When hiring a vendor, the agreement usually notes how much time will be spend at the wedding. If your event runs a bit longer than anticipated, it is natural they might charge overtime. Be sure to read your contract carefully.
5. Cleaning Fee
When booking your venue, ensure the costs include the cleaning of the premises for after the wedding. This charge often catches people by surprise.
