Celebrating 51 years in style

Bosco Meat Wholesalers celebrated its 51st anniversary on Saturday.

Bosco Meat Wholesalers celebrated its 51st anniversary on Saturday.

To mark this special occasion, customers had the chance of winning a brand new Dutsun Go.

The build-up to the event started in May, and customers purchasing red meat to the value of at least R150 were eligible to participate in a draw to win the spunky motor vehicle that was up for grabs.

On Saturday, excitement was almost tangible as a crowd of eager shoppers gathered outside the store to find out who the lucky owner of the car would be.

To make the day memorable, Bosco turned the draw into an entertaining event.

Councillor Mandla Zikhali, Bosco Manager Ebrahim Keeka and Given Khumalo from NTT Nissan Newcastle drew eight tickets out of hundreds of entrants.

The eight customers had their tickets put into a bag and tickets were then pulled to eliminate five of the finalists.

Once the top three were selected, their three tickets were put into another bag to determine who would clinch first, second and third place.

Sipho Manana was the winner of the Datsun Go, much to his delight. “I feel so good,” he exclaimed.

Second place was clinched by John Mbuli, with Sipho Mbele in third place, both of whom won meat hampers from Bosco.
