Iskcon to host celebrations

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (Iskcon) will be celebrating Sri Krishna Astmee on September 5.

The celebrations will begin at 6.30pm and end at midnight.

During the celebrations, devotees will be allowed to participate in the abishiek, the bathing ceremony of Krishna, bhajans, kirtans and a special arti ceremony at midnight.

A tulsi garden will be set up for puja, and a drama will be performed by the Iskcon Gurukul and Youth Group.

The community is urged to bring fruit and flower offerings to the festival.

Continuing the celebrations, Iskcon will also be celebrating the Jaludatta experience of Srila Prabhupada.

As part of the celebration, Iskcon will be hosting the inaugural Love Feast Service to honour His Divine Grace AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada Sri Vysa Puja.

The event will take place on September 6 from 10am until 12pm.

Both events will take place at the Iskcon temple at 20 Toucan Place.
