Great support for ‘Good Deed Friday’
With prizes up for grabs, live music, a delightful atmosphere and proceeds of the ticket sales going to charity, what more could one ask for?
BLACK Whiskey rocked Ella Mera on Friday night, August 28.
Always a crowd pleaser, the band wowed patrons with their electrifying presence, and all for a good cause.
In aid of the local SPCA, Michael Phytides opened his popular pub to a charitable fundraiser for the second time this year, dubbing the evening ‘Good Deed Friday‘ in the name of charity.
With prizes up for grabs, live music, a delightful atmosphere and proceeds of the ticket sales going to charity, what more could one ask for?

Prizes were sponsored by generous companies and individuals as well as a free performance by a very talented local band.

These prizes were raffled off with tickets being sold until midnight on the night of the event and the draw taking place the following afternoon at Ella Mera under the watchful eye of SPCA representative, Francis Fynn.

A total of R3 320-00 in ticket sales and donations was raised for the SPCA.Â
To add to the festivities and the funds, Black Whiskey (appropriately) raffled off two bottles of whiskey on the night, sponsored by Natal Plumbers and Jungle Junkies, raising an additional R1000-00 toward the cause.

Sponsors who contributed to the event were: AutoZone Vryheid; DIY Depot; Distell Liquors; Vryheid Cash ‘n Carry Liquors; Hair Zone; Habitat; Mountain View Guest Lodge and Packaging Supplied Plastics.
