Dundee’s Lost Tales – The Headless Biker

Do you have a paranormal story to share with us - Let us know

Following Paranormal Day, we have decided to start a new feature called Freaky Friday.

Every Friday we will be focusing on one of Dundee’s myths, ghost stories or lost tales.
To start of Freaky Friday, we begin with the tale of the Headless Biker.

In the early 50’s there was a railway crossing near the bridge where the train crosses between Dundee and Glencoe.
According to the tale, a couple where travelling towards Gelncoe behind a truck carrying corrugated sheeting, which hung over the back.

A biker then passed the couple and just before the crossing, the truck applied brakes and the young man went straight into the back of the sheeting, which beheaded him in the process. The bike continued with the headless driver and crashed near the now turnoff to the bypass. Residents said they often saw the headless biker near the crossing. There were also always accidents on that road, which many believed were because of him.

Thanks to Madge Hellerle who shared that story with us that she heard from her grandparents.
