From dog attacks to sound systems blaring, July 7, 2006 had it all

Police were intent on clamping down on noise pollution after receiving numerous complaints from the community.

People complained that motorists drive around with their sound systems blaring.

Two were locked in a factory by the supervisor in what was believed to a dodgy atchar operation. The duo were freed after police and undercover Courier journalists busted the supervisor at the premises.

Two women were viciously attacked by dogs on Smith Street. One of the women said she feared for her 1-year-old sons life.

No one helped her and she lay on the pavement bleeding, until the police arrived.
The owner of the dogs gave her R10 to go the doctor.

Local athlete, Monica Botha was selected to represent SA at the World Age Group Triathlon in Switzerland.
