Thank you for flower festival

Initially I had my doubts about the Parys Flower Festival, mainly because of the relatively short period of time in which it was arranged. But what a surprise! There are two things that stood out and for which I want to thank the Municipality, the province and other persons involved.

Initially I had my doubts about the Parys Flower Festival, mainly because of the relatively short period of time in which it was arranged. But what a surprise! There are two things that stood out and for which I want to thank the Municipality, the province and other persons involved.
Firstly the Carnival Parade – it was spectacular and entertaining, especially the flower floats, but also all the dancers, giant puppets, stilt walkers and other participants. The flower arrangements on the floats were of international standard.
Secondly, thank you for spring cleaning our town. Grass was cut, litter collected, old heaps of branches and cut off trees were removed, irrigation gutters cleaned and potholes were filled. I saw municipal employers working till late. Nature also did its part with the Vaal River flowing strongly to impress visitors who could relax on clean river banks. As a resident I felt proud and wondered why our town could not always be so neat?
Hopefully local businesses also benefitted because of the many visitors from elsewhere. I am sure that we impressed the Province and that this shall become an annual local event.
Well done!
