Medi Zone staff member discharged from hospital after stabbing incident

The assistant was stabbed in the chest when he intervened to help his colleague.

An employee from Dr Tickley’s Medi Zone in Father Balink Street was discharged from hospital on Monday after he was stabbed with a knife while walking home last week.

Dr Tickley’s rooms have extended their hours of service to better serve the community. Although the facility usually closes at 22:00 in the evening, it closed later on the particular evening due to a patient who still needed assistance.

After closing, the said employee and a colleague walked home when they were confronted by two suspects, who demanded money.

One then grabbed the woman’s handbag. The employee was stabbed in the chest when he intervened to help his colleague.

Despite this unfortunate incident, the practice will continue providing this much needed service.
