Police confiscate Swati dagga worth R100 000 near Vredefort

The suscpects is expected to appear before the Vredefort Magistrate's Court soon.

Two males, aged 28 and 35, was arrested near Vredefort on Thursday, March 26, on charges of dealing in dagga.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Josephine Rani says members of Vredefort CSC, Vredefort Detectives, together with reservists, acted on information about a silver bakkie suspected to be involved in drug dealing.

While patrolling along the R59, members spotted and intercepted the identified vehicle near Vredefort. Upon searching the vehicle, members discovered 12 black refuse plastic bags containing Swati dagga.

The dagga weighing approximately 110 kilogram, with an estimated street value of R100 000, was confiscated.

The suspects are expected to appear before the  Vredefort Magistrate’s Court on charges of dealing in drugs.
