Parys detectives are appealing to the public to assist in identifying the body of an unknown woman that was recovered from the Vaal River in Parys on April 20.

According to police spokesperson Sergeant Josephine Rani, members of the Parys community reported a body seen floating in the Vaal River at Grewarlaan, shortly after 06:00.

The deceased is described as an African female, approximately 30 years old.

Her hands were bound above her head with cable ties, and her feet were tied with a rope. She was wearing a pink shirt and white Adidas tekkies. Her pants and underwear were torn.

No arrests have been made yet.
