Police release the names of victims of R76 shooting incident

No arrests have been made at this stage.

The Free State Murder and Robbery Unit continues to investigate the fatal shooting incident that occurred on Thursday, May 14, on the R76 between Tweeling and Reitz. The incident resulted in four fatalities and one person sustaining serious injuries.

The deceased have been positively identified by their next of kin as Lekiba Likhetho (24), Rebone Moeketsi (26), Pule Latela (32), and Tshepang Cecilia Letsoha (27). All four deceased are Kingdom of Lesotho nationals. The surviving victim remains in hospital receiving medical treatment.

No arrests have been made at this stage, and investigations are ongoing.

The South African Police Service appeals to any members of the community who witnessed the incident or who may have information that could assist the investigation to contact Captain Sandile Dladla on 073 226 6788 or 082 466 8530. Information can also be shared anonymously through Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or via the MySAPS App.
