The time has come for local soccer talent to be discovered and polished into the future stars of tomorrow.   This is the chance for a new generation of soccer lovers to stand up and make their dreams a reality. This dream will start at the Promosa Stadium on 14 November 2015 with the launch of the Potch Tlokwe Dream Team initiative.

Soccer trials will be held at the stadium with three special guests choosing and assessing the players with a chance to play for selected PSL and Development teams.   These special guests will include Fabian McCarthy (former Kaizer Chiefs and Sundowns player), Thabo September (former Supersport United player) and Jabulani Mendu (former Kaizer Chiefs player.)

According to the coordinator, Waydon Bezuidenhout, this initiative arose from concerns about drug abuse in the community.   “The aim of this organisation is to get the youth away from drugs and crime and more involved in soccer and to give them exposure on the sports field,” he said.   “We are looking for players aged 16-23. Registration is R100 and we also require an ID copy as well as 2 ID photos.”

Bezuidenhout also spoke about the need for sponsorship in hosting the event.   “We need money for refreshments, T-shirts and kit and stadium fees. It will really help us to make the event the success it can be,” he added. Enquiries: Waydon Bezuidenhout at 071 199 1793.
