Groundbreaking fossil discovery to be unveiled at Maropeng
The discovery is one of many to have been found on South African soil over the years.
A team of explorers and scientists have uncovered a large body of fossil elements at the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site.
The University of the Witwatersrand, in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology and National Research Foundation have been intensively researching the discovery since 2013.
Amongst the dignitaries expected to attend are Vice President Cyril Ramaphosa, Wits Vice Chancellor Adam Habib, Environmental Affairs Minister Edna Molewa and acting Gauteng Premier Lebo Maile.
