Community hosts Candle Light for shack fire victims

The community of extention five in Ikageng gathered on Wednesday night, 17 April to honour Atlegang and Ofentse Madite who passed away during a shack fire on Sunday, 14 April. The community hosted a Candle Light to say goodbye to the girls who were five and six years old at the time of their passing. Atlegang’s Principal spoke at the Candle Light to encourage the community in this hard time. A community member stated that more than a 100 people attended the Candle Light. The 34-year-old mother of the two girls sustained serious injuries during the fire and was transported to Baragwanath hospital to receive treatment. She has since passed away while in hospital Colonel Adéle Myburgh stated that two cases of inquest are under investigation.
