Potch grieves loss of legendary Dr Sam Motsuenyane (97)

The 'Father of Black Business' passed tragically on 29 April 2024.

Potchefstroom bid farewell to Dr Sam Motsuenyane with a heavy heart after he passed on 29 April 2024. Dr Motsuenyane was born on 11 February 1927 and was an admirable 97 years old when he died. Dr Motsuenyane came from a humble beginning in Potchefstroom and built his way to being known as the Father of Black Business. He was an esteemed entrepreneur, and countless others have followed in his footsteps to pursue their dreams. Learning from Dr Motsuenyane’s legacy, they did not and will not let obstacles keep them from fulfilling their biggest aspirations. As co-founder of the National African Federated Chamber of Commerce (Nafcoc), Dr Motsuenyane leaves more than his legacy behind. He played an integral role in establishing the African Bank and, by extension, the South African economy. Dr Motsuenyane empowered many black communities to seize entrepreneurial opportunities to pursue a better tomorrow for themselves and their families. Dr Motsenyane was an extraordinary man, and everyone who knew him will miss him deeply.Friends and family of Dr Motsuenyane grieve his loss and hope his memory will inspire others
