Letlhabile police seek community assistance in locating missing man

Letlhabile Police issue a plea to the community for assistance in locating 54-year-old Elliott Jiyane, missing since 12 June 2024.

Letlhabile Police are reaching out to the community for assistance in locating 54-year-old Mr. Elliott Jiyane, who went missing from Boikhuco Old Age Home in Letlhabile, outside Brits. Mr. Jiyane, who is originally from Jubillee township near Pretoria, is mentally challenged, further heightening concerns for his safety.

He was last seen on Wednesday, 12 June 2024, at approximately 11:44 AM. Despite extensive searches conducted in and around Letlhabile, including the vicinity of Rietgat, Mr. Jiyane has not been located. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a light brown jacket, a black and white T-shirt, and one white shoe. He is described as average in height, with a skinny built body and light skin complexion, and he has a bald head.

Detective Sergeant Peter Sakonekha of Letlhabile Detectives is leading the investigation and urges anyone with information regarding Mr. Jiyane’s whereabouts to come forward. Detective Sergeant Sakonekha can be reached at 082 416 0670, or individuals can contact their nearest police station. Anonymous tip-offs can also be communicated via the MySAPS App on a smartphone or by calling Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
