Drug Awareness outreach in Promosa

The way forward is to establish a Drug Centre within Promosa.

A Drug Awareness outreach will take place in Promosa over the weekend and everyone that needs help or wants to get involved is invited to join the event.

The Promosa Minister’s Fraternal, together with Freedom Recovery Centre and YADSA (Youth Against Drugs and Substance Abuse), are planning a Drug Awareness Outreach this weekend, 25 – 27 October.

On Friday morning, all stakeholders will be visiting the Promosa High School and two Primary schools to bring awareness in the area. A youth gathering will take place on Friday night for prayer, information and guidance at the Promosa community hall.

Saturday’s campaign continues with an outreach on the streets and hotspots where individuals go for their fix will be visited. On Sunday a combined service will be held, where all churches and the community will come together to pray about the drug pandemic in and around Promosa.

“This will be the ideal platform where parents who have children that are struggling with drugs can come for help. We are hopeful that we can change their drug habits. We are here for assistance,” Glenville Fransman, a leader in the community, said.

“We still need sponsorships to help willing addicts to get into a rehabilitation centre. The way forward is to establish a Drug Centre within Promosa to provide further assistance to addicts of drugs and substance abuse. They will then be able to receive help and not have a problem financially, going to another province.”
