Partnership against gender-based violence and femicide

The Buffelshoek Police Station in conjunction with JB Marks Municipality and a Swedish delegation from ALMHULT/VAXJO Municipality held an information session and awareness campaign on Thursday, February 27, at Buffelshoek Police Station and Mponeng Primary School, situated close to Venterskroon.
Constable Annah Ndeletu (GBVF Cordinator of Buffelshoek Police Station) gave a presentation on the prevention of GBV, Sexual Offences and other crimes reported at the Station area and services rendered by the police.
The National Prosecuting Authority, NGO’s and Department of Social Development also formed part of this partnership. The Acting Station Commander, WO LE Botha, welcomed the delegates, and they did a walk-about to view the police station.
Thereafter the delegation proceeded to Mponeng Primary School, where Mrs Jordan, the School Principal, welcomed all delegates and Const Annah Ndeletu introduced the Swedish delegation to the learners. The learners also received a lecture on GBV, sexual offences and school bullying. Constable Annah Ndeletu encouraged learners to report crime and abuse. The delegation then proceeded to the Potchesftroom Tutuzela Care Centre, where the Swedish delegation were informed of the available services given to victims at the Center.
