Ubuntu Family Centre hosts successful Street Store to uplift the community
It reflected Ubuntu’s mission to serve, love, and restore dignity in the community.
In a heart-warming display of compassion, unity, and faith, the Ubuntu Family Centre recently hosted a successful Street Store event as part of its ongoing community outreach efforts.
The initiative, led by Pastor Oral Constance and supported by Valeska and Valerie Constance, provided essential items and a message of dignity and love to those in need within the local town zone.
The Street Store, more than just a handout, was designed as an empowering space where community members could “shop” for gently used clothing and essentials with dignity and freedom of choice.
The goal was not only to meet physical needs but also to affirm each individual’s value and restore a sense of self-worth. The event was made possible through the generosity of church members and supporters, who donated clothing and helped create a welcoming atmosphere.
In addition to the clothing experience, attendees were offered a warm cup of soup, and children received festive party packs to take home, ensuring no one left emptyhanded. Inspired by the scripture Proverbs 19:17 — “Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will repay him for his deed” — the Street Store embodied the biblical call to serve others with love and humility.
It reflected Ubuntu’s mission to serve, love, and restore dignity in the community through practical action and spiritual care.
The Ubuntu Family Centre extended sincere thanks to everyone who contributed, whether through donations, volunteering time, or offering prayers. Their support helped create a meaningful and joyful experience for many local families. The Street Store stands as a reminder that small acts of kindness can have a profound impact, fostering hope, connection, and faith. To God be the glory.
