Saints girls crowned as Noordvaal champions
The Noordvaal competition is one of the most prestigious schools cricket tournaments in the country.
Saints Christian School’s u/19 girls cricket team have once again risen to the occasion being crowned Noordvaal champions for the second year in a row.
In the final, Saints defended 102 runs in spectacular fashion to beat EG Jansen by 77 runs on November 8.
Siphokazi Duma top scored with 19, laying a solid foundation before the bowlers took charge.
Pace bowler, Gogontle Padi, delivered a devastating spell of 4/16, while Tshegofatso Monyela (2/2) and Reabetswe Dithipe (2/7) combined brilliantly to dismiss EG Jansen for just 25.
The Noordvaal competition is one of the most prestigious schools cricket tournaments in the country, bringing together the top-performing schools from Gauteng, North West, Limpopo, and Mpumalanga. Teams qualify through a series of regional play-offs before facing off in the final stages – where the best of the best battle for northern supremacy.
This emphatic win cements Saints’ reputation as one of the powerhouse girls’ cricket sides north of the Vaal River.
