Potchefstroom hospital seeks help in tracing patients’ family
The patient has been admitted to the hospital since November 14.
Potchefstroom Hospital is appealing to the public for help in tracing the family of a patient, who is currently registered at the hospital as Sello Mabesa or Mabaso.
According to Philiswa Ziyane, Social Worker for the hospital, the patient has been admitted at Potchefstroom Hospital, in Ward 6 since November 14.
“He was admitted following an assault by an unidentified person which resulted in Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). The patient was referred to the Social worker for family tracing on November 20. During the interview with the patient, not much verbal information could be obtained from him as he is unable to speak, however, able to write.”
The patient has managed to provide the Social worker with his significant others’ names, Motshe Mpheko or Motshedisi Lengong. According to the patient, Motshe or Matshedisi are employees at Post office in Potchefstroom.
Ziyane continues to say on December 2, a visit to Potchefstroom Post office was conducted to enquire about the patient’s information, unfortunately, nobody at the post office knew the patient.
“Moreover, another attempt was conducted where a Welkom Post Office was contacted, however, the exercise could not bear any positive outcome, as the local post office is no longer operating.”
