Ubuntu Family Centre shares Christmas cheer at Witrand Hospital

The gifts were collected and donated by church members.

Children at Witrand Hospital received an early Christmas surprise when volunteers from the Ubuntu Family Centre delivered toys to children in the children’s ward as part of the church’s ongoing community outreach.

A team led by Associate Pastor Gladys Gerber, representing Lead Pastor Oral Constance, visited the hospital and handed over teddy bears and a variety of toys to 40 children, sparking excitement and smiles throughout the ward.

The gifts were collected and donated by church members as an expression of practical compassion during the festive season. The team was welcomed by Matron Sheila Lagoale, who received the group on behalf of the hospital’s CEO.

Nursing Sister Shelly Daniels also thanked the church for reaching out to the children and prayed a blessing over the team for their kindness and efforts in supporting young patients.

“Seeing their faces light up reminds us why we serve,” said Gerber, noting that the outreach reflects the heart of Ubuntu Family Centre’s mission to do good, reach people, and uplift children and families.

Ubuntu Family Centre describes itself as “a place where dreams come true,” guided by the belief that faith becomes real through serving others. The church aims to continue its partnership with Witrand Hospital and support vulnerable children through future community projects.
