Protestors demand suspension of Witrand hospital management

The National Education Health and Allied workers union (NEHAWU) has demanded among other things that the management team of Witrand hospital be suspended with immediate effect.

The National Education Health and Allied workers union (NEHAWU) has demanded among other things that the management team of Witrand hospital be suspended with immediate effect.

Members of NEHAWU marched through Potchefstroom today (23 June) to hand a memorandum of demands over to the management of Witrand hospital.

The protestor’s demands included

  • Transparency and openness of R260 million from department of health allocated to Witrand.
  • Management to stop abusing their power by suspending, harassing and charging workers unfairly
  • Management’s qualifications be verified and
  • a Clear forensic audit to be conducted with immediate effect
