A group of Gr. 8 learners from Potchefstroom Girls’ High showered the best police station in the land with love on 1 August to kick-start the month of women and end Mandela month with a bang.
Ikageng police station was recently proclaimed SA’s best police station for the 2015/2016 financial year during the SAPS annual National Service Excellence Awards.
The learners visited the station and immediately started spring cleaning inside and out. They served the law enforcers and protectors of our communities tea, coffee, homemade cupcakes and cookies.
According to Ikageng SAPS spokesperson, Const. Kelebogile Trom, they also donated cutlery and distributed pens and fresh flowers within the station.
The Ikageng station commander, Col Jaco Brazer was impressed by the love and work of the learners. “All the uniformed members appreciate the effort they made. The station is grateful to them for making us feel special,” he said.
Col Brazer emphasised that in the difficult circumstances the police work in, the learners showed support and love. “Let the light shine upon these young girls and may God bless them on their education path,” he said.
