The Ikageng SAPS are investigating the unexplained deaths of a 15-year-old teen and a 22-year-old pregnant woman from Ikageng.
According to Const. Kelebogile Trom, Ikageng SAPS spokesperson, the police were asked to investigate the mysterious death of the teenager earlier this week. She says the girl’s aunt took her to the hospital at 01:10 on 13 September after she complained about feeling weak. ‘The woman says her niece was vomiting and had a runny tummy. They had been at the hospital for about 90 minutes when she passed away,’ Trom said.
The other inquest is of a 22-year-old pregnant woman who passed away at about 03:20 on Wednesday, 21 September. Trom says she had a high fever and was semi-conscious when the family took her to the clinic.
‘When the police arrived at the clinic, they found her lying in a prone position on the floor of the maternity ward covered with a blue sheet. The midwife said the deceased was pregnant.
‘The paramedics tried to resuscitate her but it was already too late,’ said Trom.
