Man (41) electrocuted after cutting electrical cable

A 41-year-old man from Ext. 6 was electrocuted after cutting a live electrical cable at about 15:00 on Sunday, Ikageng police reported.

Const. Kelebogile Trom, Ikageng SAPS spokesperson says an inquest case has been opened.
She says the police were called to Mogolodi Street in Ext. 6 and found the emergency services personnel. They took the police to the body of a 41-year-old man whom they certified dead. He was covered with a blanket.
Trom says the deceased had an open wound on his right hand that was possibly caused by the electric shock. ‘About 10 metres from the body, there was a cable which was apparently cut by the deceased. The body was handed to the forensic services for further investigation,’ she said.
