The Potchefstroom police are investigating a business robbery that took place at a shop in Walter Sisulu Avenue at 23:00 on Sunday night.
According to WO Mpho Manyoba, the police spokesperson, the complainant was inside the shop when an African male came in and ordered Russian sausages and bread. As he was busy preparing the food, the unknown suspect suddenly pulled out a firearm. He instructed him to take all the cash out of the drawer and threatened to shoot him if he refused. He then forced him to lie down on the ground.
The second suspect pistol-whipped the employee before they fled with R1 000 worth of airtime, two Samsung phones valued at R5 000 each and an undisclosed amount of cash. No one has been arrested yet and the police are still looking for the suspects.
