A 26-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping his 24-year-old ex-girlfriend in Sonderwater last Saturday.

A 26-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping his 24-year-old ex-girlfriend in Sonderwater last Saturday.

According to Const. Kelebogile Trom, Ikageng SAPS spokesperson, the victim was allegedly at a tavern with a friend at 03:00 on Saturday when her ex-boyfriend stormed in, demanding to speak to her.
‘She refused to talk to him and he threatened her with violence. He dragged her to his car and drove her to his place where he further assaulted her.
‘The complainant says she then decided to sleep and had only her underwear at that time. Thereafter, the suspect joined her in bed and raped her,’ said Trom.
The suspect was arrested at around 18:00 that day after the woman reported the case to the police.
