No protest action has been planned in Potchefstroom on Friday 7 April but the DA will gather at the Klerksdorp Recreation Hall at 10:00.

This, as far as the Herald could establish, is the nearest venue for those who would like to express their dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs in South Africa.

Before you decide to stay away from work, however, be sure to get permission from your line manager – you may have to take a day’s leave.

According to the Constitution, everyone has the right to assemble peacefully, demonstrate, picket and/or petition. What is not allowed, however, is being armed, blocking entrances to emergency services buildings or inciting violence or hatred. All protests should be conducted peacefully and with due regard to the rights of others.

If anyone knows of another planned demonstration or church service in or near Potch, please let us know.
