The community of Boikhutsong have closed the road between Ventersdorp and Rustenburg with rocks and burning tyres.

This has been done in protest because various departments have still not made themselves available to accept various memorandums from the community.

This includes grievances surrounding a clinic that was closed in the area as well as issues that the community has with transportation to schools. The relevant departments were believed to have availed themselves on Friday but did not do so.

Warnings were sent out for people not to use this road but find alternative routes.

The situation is being monitored and will be updated as new information is made available.
