Hawks arrest three for drug possession in Klerksdorp

On Friday, 2 June, members of the Hawks in the North West province conducted an operation around Klerksdorp where three suspects were arrested for Illegal possession of drugs.
According to Hawks spokesperson, Capt. Tlangelani Rikhotso, Munezero Gigi (30) was arrested at a taxi rank after being found in possession of Mandrax tablets valued to be worth approximately R1550. ‘She appeared at the Klerksdorp Magistrate Court today where bail was denied. Her next appearance will be on 09 June 2017 for further investigation.
‘Meanwhile, Tengot Mayeku (30) and Bonolo Makume (21) were arrested in a flat around town after being found in possession of cocaine worth approximately R1200, five cell phones and R11 908 in cash. The suspects also appeared at the Klerksdorp Magistrate Court today where Mayeku received R3000 bail and Makume R1000 bail. The pair is going to appear in court again on 20 July 2017,’ she said.
The Provincial Head of the Hawks – Maj. Genl Linda Mbana warns that the Hawks will be conducting operations of this nature in and around Klerksdorp again.
