The police are investigating an inquest case after a passerby found human bones scattered in a veld in Promosa last Thursday at about 10:00 in the morning.
According to Sgt. Kelebogile Trom, Ikageng Police spokesperson, the woman found scattered human bones in the veld and immediately called the police.
‘At this stage, the police cannot say whether it is a man or woman, and no foul play is suspected. There is also nothing on the scene that can assist us. The bones have been taken for DNA testing and analysis. The police investigations continue and our findings will be revealed at a later stage,’ said Trom.
Trom says anyone who has any information must please come to the Ikageng Police station or call the head of detectives in Ikageng, Lt. Col Jonan Scholtz on 082 568 6264.
The story of human bones in Promosa on Thursday comes after the Herald ran another story in May of a road and maintenance worker who discovered a tied up skeleton. 30km outside Potchefstroom on the Fochville road.
Const. Elsie Tshonte, the Fochville Police spokesperson, said at that time that police were investigating an inquest case. However, she has not responded to the Herald’s enquiry about any new developments.
