Power Outage at CACHET Substation on 06 August 2017

There will be a power outage at CACHET Substation on Sunday 06 August 2017 due to modifications to be done on the panels in the substation. The duration of the outage will be from 08h00 until 17h00. However residents are warned to always treat all power points as live since power may be restored at any given time even before 17h00.

The power outage will affect the following areas: Mooivallei rural area. Mooivallie Park. Sanitas rural area as well as new extensions within the area, Waterberry Estate, Tuscany Ridge and all new developments in the surrounding area including Dagbreek hoewes.

Downtown areas to be affected include Retiefstreet northwards to the Bult Area, Maree Street, Arie Jona Street, Klopper Street, Rivier Street, Jan Cilliers

Street, Fick Street, Spruit Street the Bult area including Steve Biko Street, Molen  Sstreet, Thabo Mbeki Street, Heilige Akker as well as the Dam Area.

The business areas around the Bult Spar area, Shell Garage, Steve Biko business area, Mooimed Hospital, the shopping centre at Waterberry, the engineering section of the North West University will also be affected.

The City Council regrets the inconvenience to all affected residents. However, the substation is undergoing important upgrades that cannot be held back and which are necessary for the continued uninterrupted supply of electricity in the areas concerned.
