The Potchefstroom police arrested a man suspected of stealing two bicycles worth R50 000 on Saturday.
According to Brig Steven Moodley, the station commander, after the police received a tip-off they went to the property in question.
‘The occupants were aggressive towards the police and tried their intimidation tactics so that the police officers would leave. Thanks to our members being relentless in their actions, the flying squad was called in to back our members up. The suspect (the owner) of the property was taken in and two bicycles worth R50 000 were recovered,’ said Moodley.
He added that the police were able to confirm that the bicycles were stolen during a business burglary that occurred on Friday night.
Moodley thanked the SAPS Potchefstroom, SAPS Potchefstroom Flying Squad and members of the community for working together in their commitment and dedication in the fight against crime.
