
The Ikageng police are investigating a murder case after a 31-year-old man allegedly killed his 30-year-old girlfriend with a garden spade in Sonderwater on Monday morning.
According to Sgt Kelebogile Trom, the police spokesperson, the police were called to the scene at about 03:00 on Monday morning.
“Upon their arrival, they met with the suspect’s uncle who told the police his nephew had killed his girlfriend in their shack. The police went inside and found the deceased lying on the bed, naked. She had sustained facial injuries and had an open wound on her stomach,” reported Trom.
Trom says the suspect told the police he had killed his girlfriend with a spade.
“The paramedics were called to the scene and certified her dead. Her body was transported to the mortuary,” she said.
Trom could not divulge what had led to the murder.
