The JB Marks local municipality warns that a water shutdown will occur from tonight (18 November) till Friday night (22 November).
According to Jeanette Tshite, municipal spokesperson, the municipality’s Department of Technical Services will shut down water supply from 22:00 pm until 04:00 am every night until this Friday (22 November).
The following areas will be affected by the water shutdown:
Extention 7; Extention 11; Extention 3; Extention 13; Keotshepile Primary School and Mohadin.
“The main objective of the shutdown is to attend to the challenge identified at the Sonderwater Reservoir. The water level at the particular reservoir is still not improving as it is battling to fill up,” Tshite said.
She adds that the department has noted that the reservoir’s levels rise quicker when a water shutdown is undertaken at night.
