Twenty trees bring new life to Cachet Park

The Lo/Fi Music Company (previously Texas Music Company) and the Cachet Park CID planted 20 new trees in the park, a mix of Olienhout and Karee.

Potchefstroomers made a difference with their green fingers and dirty hands at Cachet Park on Saturday, 16 November.
The Lo/Fi Music Company (previously Texas Music Company) and the Cachet Park CID planted 20 new trees in the park, a mix of Olienhout and Karee.
Some of the students of the music school, Cachet Park CID and volunteers, decided to join in this fantastic initiative.
According to Miemie Richter, one of the directors at Lo/Fi Music Company, the idea to plant trees came about after an American Youtuber, Mr Beast, decided to plant 20 million trees as part of a global initiative.

“This was an opportunity for the community to come together and promote the environment. We wanted to uplift the community and, together with Cachet Park CID, we managed to start this initiative in Potch. We all need to make a positive difference in our communities,” said Richter.
Kiewiet van Zyl, the operational officer at Cachet Park CID, said these trees would help to improve the park and create a vibrant family atmosphere.
“We encourage the community and businesses to transform Cachet Park into something exceptional.”
