Some areas that were affected by the water crisis, have a water supply.

Jeanette Tshite, the municipality’s senior media relations officer confirms that water has been restored. “Water is available in most of the areas that had been struggling from time to time with no water. The pipe that broke down due to power outage in the past weeks and led to most of the water challenges, has been repaired,” says Tshite.

According to Tshite, extension 7 is still experiencing water flow interruptions. “The Technical Services Directorate intends to engage with service providers; engineers to resolve the problem at extension 7 once and for all.

“There is no water interruption anticipated for the entire festive season unless on an emergency or unforeseen circumstances but, a notification will be made through to the residents,” she says.

Water tankers will still supply water to areas that are experiencing a water crisis.

“Once again the municipality regrets the inconvenience caused and is doing all it can to bring the situation back to normality,” says Tshite.
