
It is confirmed the 26-year-old woman from Klerksdorp hospital who was treated at the unit for highly contagious diseases is not infected with the Coronavirus.
The Herald previously reported the woman was infected, but now has new information. Dr. Zweli Mkhize, Health Minister, reported at a media conference on Monday afternoon that the woman showed symptoms of the virus and initially tested “weak positive”, it might have been caused by a “cross-reaction” with another virus.
According to Nico Masiu, the hospital spokesperson, the woman was transferred earlier from the Morolong hospital in Vryburg. Her condition is stable and she is not a high-risk case.
