Municipal services rendered even during lockdown

According to William Maphosa, municipal spokesperson, the offices closed last Wednesday, 25 March and will reopen on Monday, 20 April.

However, the offices of the municipal manager and chief financial officer will remain open.

The essential services include, refuse removal, traffic and disaster management,electrical supply, sanitation, sewer and water supply. Electricity will be available at the usual dedicated garages, banks and prepaid24.

“We all must do our best to fight this invisible enemy ravaging our country and the world,

“We urge the public to only undertake essential trips outside their homes such as, getting food, to seek medical care, access supplies or to visit pay points for grants on the days provided,” Maphosa said.

He further pleads with community members to practice good hygiene and to cooperate with the government and other spheres that implement measures during the period of the lockdown.
