Welcome the freshness of Spring into your home
It’s time to ditch any dull and dated colours that haunt your home and replace them with beautiful bold shades that make a room pop

1. Clean the windows Your windows were probably mostly closed and somewhat neglected during winter when no one wanted to brave the cold, squeegee in hand. Now’s the time for them to get their sparkle back with a good wash, so you can throw them wide open to let in the fresh air and warm spring sunlight. Remember also to wash your curtains and blinds to really banish the winter blues.
2 Unclog your gutters Cleaning your gutters shouldn’t take you more than an hour or so. The rotten leaves can accumulate and lead to an unpleasant odour if not cleared, and if the gutters are blocked when the spring rains come, you could be left with a lot of extra cleaning up to do! Keeping gutters clean and maintained will also extend their lifespan, saving you money in the long run.
3 Bring the outside in While it is important to ensure that your home is fresh and clean for spring, it is also important to add life and colour. You can achieve this by replacing old or outdated ornaments with a selection of your favourite house plants, especially in areas which may look a little bare or a bit dingy.
4 Can the clutter If you intend doing a full-on clear out, it’s advisable to take a planned approach. Aim to tackle the task room by room, with the firm resolve to toss out any impulse purchases and anything you have been hoarding for years and no longer need or use. You’ll be amazed at how good you feel when this is accomplished!
5 Inner beauty It’s time to ditch any dull and dated colours that haunt your home and replace them with beautiful bold shades that make a room pop. Colour coordinate your rooms with bright spring colours like red, yellow, pink, green and white. If you can afford to, replace your bedding, curtains, cushion covers and carpets. If you can’t, try adding statement pieces, lampshades or throws in a vibrant new hue.
