Protestors have blocked the N12 with a backhoe at the bridge that leads to Klerksdorp.

Earlier this morning, they had also blocked the entrance to the offices of Public Works in Kruis Street where vehicles were prevented from entering or leaving the premises.

Allegedly the protestors are members of the Tlokwe Business Forum (TBF).

Public Order Police are on the scene to monitor the situation. According Col. Adéle Myburgh, spokesperson of the police in the North-West, no damage or injuries have been reported.

An anonymous source, indicate that the members of TBF are upset because they believe they are being left out when tenders are being awarded.

When the Herald approached the crowd in front of the Public Work entrance, they refused to talk to the media and dispersed. Bystanders were also not willing to speak up.
