Occupants in a bakkie got trapped earlier this evening on the flooded road between Promosa and Mohadin.

The J.B. Marks Municipality and all relevant law enforcement authorities are urging road users travelling on the N12 between Potch and Klerksdorp to drive with caution.
This is due to the high volume of heavy rain that fell this afternoon (2 January).
According to a press release from JB Marks Community Safety, occupants in a bakkie got trapped earlier this evening on the flooded road between Promosa and Mohadin. Occupants of the vehicle were rescued.
The JB Marks Community Safety issued a statement this evening that stated advised residents to report all flood related incidents to the call center (018 293 1111) due to the very high volume of call coming through the Disaster Management Center.
“Vehicles are diverted using one lane from Potchefstroom to Klerksdorp for both traffic. However, both lanes from Klerksdorp at Ikalafeng entrance and Sarafina entrance are closed. Motorists are requested to pay extra attention while driving on the N12,” the release stated.
The bridge between Promosa and Ikageng must avoided at all costs, the road is closed due to floods. We appeal to the motorists and pedestrians not drive or walk over bridges under water and to rather use alternative safe roads.”
