Potch dam set to reopen on Valentines Day

In a statement released by the municipality on Friday, 04 February 2022, residents were informed that the Potchefstroom Dam recreation facility will be reopened to the public for day visits from Monday, February 14, 2022.

The facility has for some time been out of bounds for public use as it was handed over to the Provincial Department of Health during the peak of the Covid19 pandemic to be used as a quarantine facility. The facility has since been handed back to the Municipality.

However, as of February 14, 2022, the facility will be open for day visits only. Bookings for overnight stays in chalets will still remain closed and will be considered for re-opening at a later stage.
