Bert’s Bricks Primary School Sextet choristers took second place at ABC Motsepe South African Schools Choral Eisteddfod (SASCE) National Championship at Rhema Church in Randburg on Tuesday, 28 June.

“We thank the Lord for making this achievement possible, choristers who sacrificed their weekends and school holidays for rehearsals and the conductors, who started this journey with us from as early as, teaching our choristers the first note of music,” the principal of the school, Lehlohonolo Mofokeng said.

Mofokeng extended his appreciation to the parents for continuously supporting their children. “We appreciate them for trusting us with their kids during our weekend camp practices,” he said.
“The contribution of all our staff members and their involvement in the event will not go unnoticed.”
The principal adds that the journey to the event may not have been easy but it was memorable. All those involved displayed tenacity and endurance.

“It wouldn’t have been possible without the help of the SMT, SGB, parents, learners, the sub-district, district, province and coordinators for school-enrichment activities,” Mofokeng said.
“My heart is overflowing with joy because of the efforts and support from all stakeholders. May God bless you all.”
