Police re-open case and appeal for information regarding tragic accident

Police have reopened a case and appeal for information after a tragic accident claimed the lives of Daniel Grobler (19) and Jacobus Huyser (28) in 2019.

At approximately 19:20 on Thursday, 15 August 2019, Potchefstroom police were called to an accident near the golf course entrance on the corner of Govan Mbeki and Smit Street crossing. The collision involved two vehicles (Bakkies), a white Ford Ranger and a silver/grey Ford Bantam.

“We appeal to anyone who might have witnessed this accident, especially the driver of a white Toyota Fortuner, to contact the Investigating Officer, Warrant Officer Koos van der Merwe on 079 731 0843 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111. Anonymous tip-offs can also be communicated via MySAPS App,” Police spokesperson, Colonel Adele Myburgh said.
