A member of the ANC’s National Executive Committee and National Working Committee, Dakota Legoete, led the team on Saturday, 20 August 2022  and paid solace to the bereaved families of small children from Vyfhoek Primary School who were run over by a truck on Thursday,  18 August 2022.

The team included the newly elected Chairperson of the North West Provincial Committee of the ANC, Nono Maloyi, the Executive Mayor of JB Marks Local Municipality, Gaba Thithiba Ka Qhele, the Speaker, Rosy Moithoesi Dassie, some councillors and officials of the local municipality led by the  Acting municipal manager, as well as senior officials from the Dr Kenneth Kaunda District office of the Department of Basic Education.

The truck lost control and hit the kids inside the school premises where five children were killed on the scene and four of them were injured.  “ A team has been established to work together with all affected families to ensure the necessary support throughout the period of mourning so that their departed ones can be awarded a proper and dignified send-off,”  Manager of communication, Jeanette Tshite said.

“ The delegation prayed and wished all families to receive strength and comfort from the Lord and for precious souls of their beloved children to rest in perfect peace,” she added.
