Municipality empower female employees in honour of Women’s month
As part of the Women's Month activities, the Employee Assistance Program at the JB Marks Local Municipality organized a session for female employees.
As part of the Women’s Month activities, the Employee Assistance Program at the Municipality organized a session for female employees. The event took place at the Madiba Banquet Halls on Friday, August 19, 2022, under the theme Gender Based Violence related issues and its impact in the workplace: Bouncing Back and Finding the Inner You.
“The key objective of this event was to bring awareness and empower female employees of the municipality with more information around Gender Based Violence & Femicide,” Acting manager of communication, Jeanette Tshite explained.

“ The event also enlightened the employees with ways on how best to deal with the impact of GBV-related challenges at the workplace,” Tshite added.
In addition to the National Prosecuting Authority, South African Police Services, Thuthuzela Care Centre, Department of Social Development, Legal Aid Services and a number of stakeholders attended the event.
